The roster of players selected by the managers for the “Mynavi All-Star Game 2026” (28th at Tokyo Dome, 29th in Toyama) was announced on the 13th. From Seibu Lions, the following players have been selected: Kaima Taira, pitcher, Mitsunari Takahashi pitcher, and second-round draft pick Hakua Iwaki (Haku-a) pitcher.

Taira, who lost to Nippon-Ham 's Ito by just one vote in the players' vote, confessed that he had actually voted for his rival, Ito Hiroshi, saying, "I wrote Hiromi Ito. I was being modest." He laughed regretfully, saying, "It would have been interesting if I had written it for myself," as that vote ultimately decided his fate.

The right-hander plans to continue throwing only inning every year, as he says, "Basically, since it's the All-Star fastball, I've been doing that every year, and I want to keep that up." His goal is to have an "immaculate inning," where he strikes out three consecutive batters in struck out pitches. "I'm looking forward to that too. I'd be happy if I could do it," he says, indicating his intention to fully enjoy the All-Star Game.
