Nippon-Ham suffered a crushing defeat against Seibu Lions, failing to move up to second place for the first time since April 11th. The gap between them and second-place Seibu Lions widened to one game.

Starting pitcher Fukushima suffered his third loss after giving up two consecutive Home Run in An-Ko Lin, going 7 hit 6 runs midway through the fifth inning. In his previous appearance on the 5th, against Rakuten Eagles (Rakuten Eagles Mobile Strongest), he was pulled after two innings and three runs, and said, "I'm truly sorry for being taken out at the inning of early two consecutive games," showing his heavy shoulders. In the eighth inning, third pitcher Saito gave up six runs in one go, deciding the game.
