On the 10th, the Japan baseball (NPB) and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation announced the winners of the June “SKY Perfect! walk-off Award.” From Central League, the winners were Hanshin Tigers and Shota Morishita (first-time winner); from Pacific League, the winners were Orix Buffaloes and Yutaro Sugimoto (second-time winner).

On June 30, against the Chunichi, with the score tied 2–2 in the 10th inning with one out and runner, Morishita stepped to the plate and hit his 19th home run of the season walk-off—a shot into the left-field stands Home Run—off closer Shinya Matsuyama.

In the game against the Yakult on June 9, with one out and runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth inning, Sugimoto hit a pinch-hit go-ahead walk-off two-run doble to left-center field. This was Sugimoto’s first RBI hit of the season.
