The final results of the fan vote for the “Mynavi All-Star Game 2026” (July 28 at Tokyo Dome, July 29 in Toyama) were announced on the 7th. For the Lotte team, reliever pitcher was selected in the Shota Suzuki pitcher (27) category, second baseman was selected in the Ryusei Ogawa infielder (28) category, and outfielder was selected in the Misho Nishikawa outfielder (23) category.
This marks the first time in four years that three or more players from the Lotte Marines have been selected for the All-Star Game through fan voting, the last being Roki Sasaki (starter), Ko Matsukawa (catcher), and Brandon Laird (DH) in 2022.
Now in his sixth season, Ogawa is batting .276 with 11 RBI and 3 stolen base in 73 games.“First of all, thank you very much for your votes. I never imagined I’d make the All-Star Game this way, so I want to give it my all and enjoy playing. My strength is defense, so I hope to make the stands cheer with plays that showcase defense,” he said, looking forward to showcasing his defensive skills on the big stage.
