The final results of the fan voting for the "Mynavi All-Star Game 2026" (July 28th at Tokyo Dome, July 29th at Toyama) were announced on the 7th, and Nippon-Ham infielder Tatsuki Mizuno was selected in the short stop category. This marks his second fan-voted selection, following his selection in 2024.
He had to decline the last time he was selected in 2024 due to injury. "I was hoping this year would be my year, so I'm relieved. It's a stage I've dreamed of since I turned pro, so I want everyone to see me having fun," he said excitedly.
He has posted the second-highest batting average in the league so far at .304. He was selected based on these impressive numbers, but he said, "I don't think the fans expected these numbers, and to be honest, I didn't expect them either (laughs). I've been able to show in games what I've been working on little by little since spring training, so I'm able to play with confidence now."
His strengths are his powerful hitting and speed. He has already recorded a league-leading six triple so far, and he stated his goal: "I want to hit triple, just one. I want to hit home run (laughs). But I feel like The Fighters fans would be happier with triple."
