Masahiro Nishino

Orix Buffaloes Buffaloes infielder Masahiro Nishino (35) revealed his desire to return to the first team on the 4th. He was removed from the active roster on the 3rd and restarted training at Maishima in Osaka from that day. The oldest fielder on the team, who has been struggling with a batting average of .182 in 29 games so far, said with determination, "I have no choice but to climb back up. I'm only thinking about getting back into a condition where I can compete again."

He has contributed as a mental pillar since the start of the season, but he is acutely aware of his responsibility as a member of the first team. "The fact that I have zero RBI is one example. As you can see from the numbers, I didn't perform well when it mattered. I can't set a good example for the younger players," he said, accepting the reality. Two years ago he recorded a batting average of .300, and last year his 7 Home Run and 35 RBI were both career highs. He will get his mind, body, and spirit in order and return in a form worthy of the team.
