◆ Pacific League: Orix Buffaloes vs. Seibu Lions (3rd, Hotto Motto Kobe)
Seibu Lions 's starting pitcher, Kosei Takahashi, was pulled from the game after giving up four runs in just three innings, his shortest outing of the season.
He had been incredibly consistent since the start of the season, with a 7-3 record in 12 games and the best ERA in Pacific League League at 1.36. However, in the second inning he gave up a solo home run to Moritomo to right field, and in the third inning he walked three Walk, creating a bases loaded-loaded situation with one out. He then allowed a two-run RBI single to Kurebayashi and doble to Ota, and was removed from the game in that inning. He threw 90 pitch, giving up 5 hit 4 Walk, and 4 runs. ERA rose to 1.71.
This was Takahashi Hikaru's first appearance at an outdoor stadium this season. It was also his first time on the Kobe mound in about two years, since September 3, 2012.
