Rakuten Eagles 's infielder, Rui Muneyama, joined the first team on the 3rd.
Muneyama played in 122 games last season and was aiming for further progress as the regular shortstop in his second year, but he injured his left wrist while headfirst sliding in an exhibition game against The Giants on March 20 (Tokyo Dome). He suffered a left wrist cartilage (TFCC) injury and will be sidelined for more than three months.
On June 24th, he made his return to competitive play in a farm league game against Hayate (at Shinrindori Izumi). Up to that point, he had played in five farm league games and had a batting average of .312.
The team is currently struggling at the bottom of the league. number 1, who excels both offensively and defensively, has returned.
