Stanford University infielder Rintaro Sasaki (21), who was the first overall pick by Softbank Hawks in last fall's draft, visited the team's facilities in Chikugo, Fukuoka on the 2nd. He toured Tamasta Chikugo, where the second team plays, as well as the indoor practice field and clubhouse. Third team manager Motoi Ogoshi (55), who spoke with Sasaki on ground, seemed impressed, saying, "He's only 21, but he answers questions very clearly. He has a solid understanding of his own thoughts."

On the 1st, he met with team executives in Fukuoka City, was offered number, and watched Seibu Lions game at Mizuho PayPay Stadium. This concluded his two-day engagement with the team. After the results of the MLB draft on the 11th and 12th (12th and 13th Japan time), he will make a decision from three options, including staying at university.
