◆ Pacific League: Nippon-Ham vs. Orix Orix Buffaloes (August 2nd, ES CON FIELD)

Orix Buffaloes pitcher Kazuma Sato suffered a spectacular defeat in his first start of the season. He took the lead in the first inning with a solo home run by Nishikawa (his 4th of the season), but Mizutani tied the game with a leadoff homer. Mizuno, Reyes, and Manami then hit home runs with ease. He gave up hits in every direction: over left field, over right field, over center field, and over center field again. He was knocked out of the game after just 16 pitches.

The team has failed to win a series in four consecutive games since the league resumed. Sato Ichi covered his face with a towel, clearly unable to hide his shock.
