A heavy atmosphere enveloped Orix Buffaloes. In his first start of the season, pitcher Kazuhito Sato gave up a historic four consecutive Home Run to the leadoff batter Mizutani in the first inning, and was knocked out after just 16 pitches. In the second inning, trailing by three runs, they had a chance with runners on first and third with no outs.
The expected slugger Seymour hit struck out swinging and one out. Fukunaga's grounder was bases loaded due to fielder’s choice, but ninth batter Kita grounded out to second double play.
