Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters' Shun Shun Mizutani hit his first Home Run since returning to the team. His second solo home run of the season, his first since opening day, tied the game.

Having rejoined the first team the previous day, Mizutani started for the second consecutive game as the leadoff hitter and left fielder. In the bottom of the 5th inning, with two outs and the score 1-2, he stepped up to the plate for his third at-bat. He swung at the first pitch, a curveball thrown by opposing pitcher Yutaro Ishida, and the ball soared high into the left-center field stands. It was a home run he knew was a hit the moment he left the bat, tying the game.

Mizutani was removed from the roster the day after being hit by throw during a game against the Saitama Seibu Lions on April 19th. He has been making adjustments in four games since returning to action in the minor leagues on June 2nd. The team's key player, who achieved the highest batting average in interleague play history at .438 in 2024 and was also named MVP, is making his presence felt.
