Seibu Lions suffered a come-from-behind loss to Nippon-Ham, resulting in their second consecutive series loss.
In the first inning, with two outs and a runner on second base, on the fifth pitch of a 2-2 count, Nevin hit Fukushima's high doble to center field. Opposing center fielder Yoshida attempted a diving catch, but the ball slipped past the tip of his glove, resulting in a go-ahead RBI double.
Starting pitcher Yutaro Watanabe mixed his fastest 152 km/h fastball with curves, cutter, slider, and splitter, closer the opponent runs through four innings. However, in the fifth inning, he gave up a two-run single to Mizutani, allowing the opposing team to take the lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, with two outs and a runner on second base, Yoshida hit splitter on the first pitch to left field, giving up the third run. Shunsuke Sato took mound in the seventh inning but was pulled after six innings, having given up six hit three runs. He was unable to secure his fifth win of the season.
The batting lineup managed to get runner into scoring position in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th innings, but the subsequent batters failed to capitalize, and they were limited to only scoring the first run.
