◆ Pacific League: Orix Buffaloes vs. Rakuten Eagles (28th, Hotto Motto Kobe)
Orix Buffaloes pitcher Alen Kuri had a worrying moment. In the second inning, with the score tied 0-0, immediately after striking out the leadoff batter McCusker struck out, he was seen touching his face. He was then escorted back to the dugout by a trainer.
It appeared he had a nosebleed, and he ran to mound about two minutes later. The tough right-handed pitcher, nicknamed "Iron Arm Allen," was cheered on with shouts of "Hang in there! Hang in there, Alen Kuri!"
