Seibu Lions 's Chihiro Sumida achieved a "three-pitch inning" feat.

In the seventh inning, with the score tied, he got the leadoff batter Narama to hit a ground ball to the shortstop on the first pitch, then got the next batter Isohata to hit a ground ball to second base on the first pitch, and then with two outs, he got Mizuno closer a fly ball to third base on the first pitch as well.

It was an unusual situation where he got three outs from three hitter in just three pitches.
