On the first pitch, Wakatsuki hit a cutter to second, turning the crisis into a double play and turning the tide, and the lineup in the bottom line took a 3-run lead. Suzuki marked his first professional win with just one pitch in pitch.

This is the 52nd time in professional baseball history that a pitcher has achieved a one-pitch win, and the 53rd time overall (28th time in Hanshin Tigers League, and 29th time overall). He is the ninth player to achieve this feat on his first win, the first win Otsu (SoftBank) on June 18, 2023, against Hanshin. Of these, he is the third rookie to achieve a one-pitch victory on his first start, following Takaaki Yokoyama (Rakuten) and Otsu, who accomplished the feat on August 30, 2014, against Softbank Hawks in their debut appearance.
