◆ Pacific League Softbank Hawks 0-5 Orix Buffaloes (23rd, Mizuho PayPay Dome)
Orix Buffaloes secured their sixth shutout game victory of the season, ending their six-game road losing streak. Their opponent's starting pitcher was Uwasawa, against whom they had conceded the most wins in any single series, 24 in total. In their previous encounter, Uwasawa had held them hit and pitch until one out in the ninth inning.
With the score tied 0-0 in the bottom of the third inning with two outs, Wakatsuki hit a solo home run to left field, his first of the season, to give his team the lead. In the fifth inning, So and Nishikawa each had timely hits, forcing the pitcher off mound after that inning. In the eighth inning, So hit his second timely hit of the day.
On the pitching side, starter Jerry delivered a brilliant performance, allowing only two hit and no runs over six innings while striking out strike out to earn his third win. From the seventh inning onward, Teranishi and Mukunoki held the opponent scoreless. In the ninth inning with two outs, Machado was ejected for throwing a dangerous pitch after hitting Hit by Pitch in the face, but Yamazaki closed out the game.
They managed to hold on to their lead when a loss would have dropped them to fourth place.
