Orix Buffaloes Andrés Machado pitcher was sent off for a dangerous pitch. He entered the 9th inning with a 5-run lead. A pitch from 2 no-runner to Soichiro Ishizuka struck directly near his face. Ishizuka collapsed near home plate and was unable to move for a while. Machado glanced anxiously toward Ishizuka as he retreated behind the bench. Ishizuka was carried on a stretcher, and substitute runner Shoji was sent there.

For Orix Buffaloes, Yamazaki took mound in place of Machado.

This is the third time this season that a pitcher has been ejected for throwing a dangerous pitch, the first being The Giants pitcher Togo on June 3rd. It's the first time this season in Pacific League.
