In the third inning, Shindo hit his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot over right field, and Mizuno and Otsuka followed with consecutive extra-base hits to add two more runs and extend their lead.

In the middle innings, they were unable to score any additional runs despite getting runner on base, but in the 7th inning, Shindo led off with doble the left field line. The next batter, Yamagata, laid down a bunt that resulted in an infield single, putting hit on first and third with no outs. Mizuno then executed a safety squeeze in front of first base, scoring a crucial fourth run.
