Rakuten Eagles ・ Haruto Nakagomi pitcher (24) recorded his first career win win.

He took the mound as the seventh pitcher in the 12th inning extra inning, closer the side in order. Immediately afterwards, Kurokawa hit a walk-off single to win. The right-hander, who earned his first win in his second year as a professional, beamed and said, "I'm incredibly happy."

Nakagomi joined the team in 2024 as the third pick in the draft from Tokushima of the Shikoku Island League, an independent league. It was also the first win for new manager Yoshii since he took office, and the manager handed him the winning ball, saying, "It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing (to get your first professional win)." The right-hander, who made seven appearances last season, said, "I was frustrated because I didn't get to pitch much last year after turning pro. I've been seen by a lot of people in the farm league, and it's gradually starting to take shape, so I want to keep growing from here on out," setting his sights on even greater heights.
