Before the Lotte-Rakuten Eagles game held on the 21st (Zozo Marine Stadium), four players from professional sports teams based in Chiba Prefecture threw out a ceremonial first pitch.
▼ JEF United Ichihara Chiba - Daisuke Suzuki
"I tried to throw the ball just like I did during catch practice, but since I was in the stadium with spectators, I honestly think I could have done a little better. But catcher caught it well, so I'm glad the ball didn't go in a strange direction."
▼ Kashiwa Reysol - Taiyo Koga
"I was nervous because it was my first time, but I'm glad catcher caught the ball well. It was my first time ever standing on ball park pitch, and I'm grateful for this very valuable experience. I want to continue to work with various sports teams to liven up Chiba."
▼ Artiri Chiba Takaaki Kida
"When I was little, I had a traumatic experience when my mom hit me in the face with a ball while we were playing catch. But today's event was so much fun that it completely erased that trauma, so I'd love to participate again if I have the chance. I think today was a day where people who didn't know about Altiri Chiba got to know the team, so I'm looking forward to seeing more fans gather again next season. Thank you very much."
▼ Chiba Jets Fumio Nishimura
"Ten years ago, I also threw the first pitch for Chiba Lotte Marines, but this time I was able to throw strike right down the middle, so I can say that I achieved my revenge! I was also surprised with flowers and they played my favorite song, which made me very happy. Thank you to everyone at Chiba Lotte Marines. I'm also grateful to all the Chiba Jets boosters who came out in large numbers. Thank you again for today! Please continue to support Chiba Jets and Fumio Nishimura!"
