In the fourth inning—with both teams still scoreless after forming a huddle before their at-bats—Taiga Kojima (catcher), the first-round draft pick, delivered a run-scoring single to right field with one out and runners on first and third to give his team the lead. With two outs and runners on first and second, Taiga Hirasawa (infielder) followed with a run-scoring single to center field, and the “W Okawa” duo’s timely hits put their team up by two runs.
