◆ Pacific League: Orix Buffaloes vs. Seibu Lions (21st, Kyocera Dome Osaka)

Orix Buffaloes pitcher Alen Kuri ran into trouble in the fourth inning. His no hit through the first three pitch took a nosedive. With one out and runners on first and third, he gave up a go-ahead hit to Kojima, and then collapsed completely. With two outs and runners on first and second, he gave up a second run on a single to center field by Hirasawa. Then, with two outs and runners on first and second, he gave up a three-run homer to Watanabe that landed in the fifth deck of left field.

On this day, he achieved his 1,500th innings pitched pitched, becoming the 186th player in NPB history to do so. A win would have tied the team record of 10 consecutive wins Kyocera Dome, but he was put in a difficult situation.
