Orix Buffaloes ・ Alen Kuri pitcher reached his 1,500th career innings pitched. He is the 186th player in NPB history to do so. Sugimoto, who was also born in 1991, presented him with a commemorative plaque.His first appearance came on March 29, 2014, while with the Hiroshima Carp, in a game against the Chunichi (Nagoya Dome). That day marked his 298th career appearance. He moved to the Orix Buffaloes via free agency during the offseason of 2024. Last year, in his first season with the team, he recorded 11 wins as a key starter.

This season, he has once again supported the starting rotation in the absence of ace Miyagi and Yamashita, and on June 14th against Hanshin Tigers (Kyocera Dome Osaka), he pitched on only four days' rest for the first time in three years. If he wins against Seibu Lions on that day, he will tie Yamaoka with 10 consecutive wins at Kyocera Dome Osaka.
