Nippon-Ham 's pitcher staff couldn't hold on, and they were unable to extend their winning streak.

Starting pitcher Sun Yi-Lei Sun gave up two runs in the first inning after consecutive hits by Masaki and Yanagimachi, followed by an infield grounder and a passed ball. In the third inning, he allowed a solo home run to Masaki, his seventh of the season, extending the lead.

In the fifth inning, after Masaki led off with another Walk to left field, Kikuchi walked Yanagimachi and was then removed from the game. The second pitcher, Kikuchi, gave up a three-run homer to Kondo on the first pitch, his 14th of the season, putting the team further behind.

But the offense didn't give up, and in the bottom of the inning, lead-off doble Otsuka hit a double to right field, followed by pinch-hitter Yoshida's first home Walk, narrowing the gap to three runs.

However, in the sixth inning, the third pitcher, Taku Yamamoto, gave up four runs, including a three-run homer to Kondo to left-center field, which effectively sealed the game.

They scored one run in the sixth inning and three in the eighth, but it wasn't enough.
