Softbank Hawks suffered a come-from-behind loss, ending their eight-game winning streak against Nippon-Ham since the start of the season. They took the lead in the fourth inning with a two-run RBI single by Soichiro Ishizuka after trailing by one run, but Nippon Ham scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to regain the lead.

　小久保監督は「２点取って逆転した後のイニングで。万波のあの打席、あそこじゃないですか。海野も含めて」と、４回２死一、二塁で万波中正に１ボール２ストライクから甘いストレートを中前に同点打された場面を敗因にあげた。まだボールになる変化球で誘えただけに、もったいない一球。「１―２まで言っていますからね。あそこが今日のポイント。（相手投手がいいので）そんなに多くの点は取れないので」と指摘。カード初黒星については「全然そんなのは」と気にも留めなかった。
