Nippon-Ham 's two-way player, pitcher Leo Shibata, joined the first team on the 19th.

He is expected to start in the game against Softbank Hawks on the 21st (at Escon Stadium), but on this day, with manager Shinjo watching, he also participated in batting practice and hit a massive home run into the second deck.

Shibata made his first appearance in the first team this season in the game against Hiroshima on the 4th (at Mazda Stadium). He pitched well, giving up only one runs in four innings, but then rejoined the farm team. Shibata, who rejoined the first team at Escon for the first time this season, said, "It's been a really long time, so I'm feeling very focused. (Free batting) is part of the usual routine, and I'm in it until the day before my pitching appearance."
