Softbank Hawks 's fifth-round draft pick, infielder Takayoshi Takahashi (formerly of JR East), was removed from the active roster on the 18th.

On May 31st, he was promoted to the first team due to a special exemption for Megumi Yamamoto who had suffered a concussion, and on the same day, he made his professional debut and first starting line-up as the "number 8 batter and first baseman" in the game against Hiroshima (at Mizuho PayPay Dome).
