Rakuten Eagles 's Kenta Maeda, who took the pitcher hoping for his first win of the season, gave up a two-run homer in the second inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, with no outs and a runner on first base, and the score still 0-0, the pitcher threw his second pitch to Hanshin Tigers 's Oyama. A curveball that was thrown too high was hit into the left field stands, giving Hanshin the lead, and the pitcher stood on mound stunned.
