◆Nippon Life Interleague Series 2026: Orix Buffaloes vs. Hanshin Tigers (June 14, Kyocera Dome Osaka)

For Orix Buffaloes outfielder Ryoma Nishikawa, it was a costly base running. In the first inning, he led off Hanshin Tigers 's Yuji Nishi hit a single to center field. With two outs and a runner on first, Nakagawa hit doble the left field line. At this point, third base coach Yusuke Matsui, outfield defense base running coach, waved his arm and initially signaled Nishikawa to head for home. However, when he hastily urged Nishikawa to stop at third base, the coach and Nishikawa made contact, and umpire called him out.

If there hadn't been contact, the opportunity would have expanded to two outs with runners on second and third base. It was an unexpected missed opportunity.
