Orix Buffaloes pitcher Luis Perdomo will make his first start in Japan in the game against Hanshin Tigers on the 12th (Kyocera Dome Osaka). The foreign right-hander, who won the Best reliever with Lotte in 2023, is in his third year with Orix Buffaloes. He was expected to be a key part of the winning pattern again this season, but he has been struggling with ERA of 14.14 in 8 games.

He was removed from the active roster on April 19th and reassigned to the starting rotation. Most recently, he started in a farm league game against Hanshin Tigers Tigers (SGL) on the 5th, throwing 70 pitches and allowing only one runs in five innings. It will be his first time on a pristine mound in six years, since his time with the Padres in 2020. "I think I can go into it fully prepared. Just like when I was a reliever, I want to use my strength of getting outs with a low pitch count and aim for long inning," he said, full of enthusiasm.
