Nippon-Ham 's infielder Ruan Ohtsuka hit a three-run homer to right field in the third inning, his second of the season.

In the third inning with two outs and runners on second and third base, the batter connected with slider from DeNA starter Taira, sending a deep fly ball to right field. It was a close call whether it would clear wall, but the ball bounced back and was ruled in play.

When Manager Shinjo left the dugout, the umpire gathered and conferred. After they again decided the play was still in progress, Manager Shinjo requested a replay review.

The replay showed the ball hitting the back fence at wall and rolling toward ground. Umpire umpire Yoshimoto umpire, holding a microphone, announced, “We initially ruled it in play after consulting, but following a review of the replay, home run,” prompting a huge cheer from the crowd.
