Seibu Lions was the first to hit Sosuke Genda infielder.

In the fifth inning, with no outs and runners on first and third base, and the score tied 0-0, he stepped up to the plate. He hit a 139 km/h sinker from opposing starter Wakui for a go-ahead RBI single to right field.

In his second at-bat since arriving in Japan, right-handed pitcher Wynans successfully executed sacrifice bunt, rolling the ball softly towards first base on a 0-2 count, putting runners on second and third with one out.
