Orix Buffaloes pitcher Daiki Tajima was pulled from the game after giving up 6 hit 5 runs in 4 innings. In the first inning, after walking Kikuchi with one Walk, he allowed a doble to left-center field to Kozono, putting runners on second and third. He then gave up the first run on a ground ball to second base by Sakakura. With two outs and a runner on third, he gave up an RBI single to left field to Montero. He retired the side in order in the second and third innings.

Trailing by one run in the fourth inning, he gave up a solo home run to Sakakura, the leadoff batter. With two outs, he also surrendered another solo home run to Mochimaru. He then allowed doble the left field line to Hirakawa, and then gave up a timely doble to pitcher Morishita that hit the left wall fence. In his at-bat in the third inning, he had gotten his first professional hit Morishita, but he ended up suffering a painful "double payback."
