Orix Buffaloes pitcher Riku Miyakuni has been scheduled to start in the game against Hiroshima on the 7th (Mazda Stadium). He joined the team in 2023 as the third pick in the developmental draft from Toho High School in Aichi Prefecture, and was officially registered as a regular player on May 7th. In his first professional start on the 8th against Nippon-Ham (Kyocera Dome Osaka), he gave up two runs in three innings. In his second professional start, he is aiming for his first win. "The stadium is different, and it's a new environment, but what I need to do remains the same. I just want to be able to throw my pitches well," he said with determination.

In the farm league, he has the most wins in the Western Division with 5 in 10 games, and the second-ERA at 2.26. In the game against Nippon-Ham on May 30 (at Sugimoto Shoji BS), he pitched well, allowing only one run in runs innings. "Even when I'm not playing well, there are games where I'm able to make adjustments during the game," he said, seemingly feeling that he is improving. This breakout candidate, who hails from Ginowan City, Okinawa, the same city as ace Miyagi, is aiming to secure a memorable win on the road.
