The starting pitcher was Ozeki, who had pitched shutout game win against Hiroshima on May 29th (at Mizuho PayPay Dome). In the third inning, after receiving one run of support, he gave up a go-ahead three-run homer to Maki, and his pitching completely fell apart.

In the fifth inning, he gave up a two-run homer to Watari, another two-run homer to Hummel, and a solo homer to Matsuo. He was shelled, giving up eight runs in five innings.
