Orix Buffaloes pitcher Andrés Machado 's consecutive save streak ended at 14 games.

Tied extra inning 10 innings, entered as the seventh pitcher. He shut off the leadoff Nahara with a change-up fly ball to center, then got Katsuta out swinging struck out with a 156 km/h fastball. With two outs, Kozono carried the ball to right, but he got Sakakura on a grounder to shortstop with a change-up.

He also took mound in the 11th inning without allowing runs. Noma, the leadoff batter, was put in a jam with no outs and a runner on second base due to his own error, but he did not give up a run. Although the team record was put to an end, he fulfilled his role perfectly.
