On June 1st, the Chiba Lotte Marines announced that infielder Kenta Chatani underwent endoscopic decompression surgery for spondylolisthesis at a hospital in Hyogo Prefecture on May 29th. Chatani had been diagnosed with lumbar spondylolisthesis.
Chatani has not played in any first-team games so far this season, appearing in 7 farm team games with a batting average of .538 RBI. His last appearance was against Oisix on April 3rd.
