Rakuten Eagles suffered a come-from-behind loss to Chunichi, extending their losing streak to two games.

The start was smooth. In the first inning, with one out and a runner on first base, Tatsumi hit a two-run homer. His go-ahead home run brought in a big run.

However, starting pitcher Kosha was inconsistent. He gave up a run in the first inning, and then in the third inning, with a one-run lead, he gave up a game-tying solo home run to Ukai to right-center field. In the fourth inning, with the score tied, he gave up a go-ahead solo home run to Ishikawa to left field with one out. Then, with one out and a runner on second, he gave up a timely doble down the left field line to Yamamoto. He just couldn't hold on. He was replaced by a pinch hitter in the fifth inning. He gave up 6 hit runs 4 innings, missing out on his second win of the season.

From the 5th inning with the team trailing by two runs, Uchi came in as the second pitcher but contributed to three runs with two timely hits. The midfield runs weighed heavily on them.
