Softbank Hawks The Mexican left-hander Armenta, registered under the main roster from development, made his first appearance and start in Japan. After giving the lead Izumiguchi a Walk, Yoshikawa Hisashi hit left front. He was in a pinch with runners on first and second and no outs, but flew out to center field. He shut down Darbek and Ojo with fastball of 155 km/h and 154 km/h, swinging struck out and misses. The first maximum was 157 km/h.

Armenta is a 21-year-old in his fifth year in Japan, and he participated in this spring's WBC as a member of the Mexican national team. In the minor leagues, he pitched in two games with no wins or losses and ERA of 1.50.
