Rakuten Eagles outfielder Ryosuke Tatsumi hit a go-ahead two-run homer.
In the first inning, with one out and a runner on first base and the score tied 0-0, Tatsumi connected with a high fastball down the middle thrown by Sakurai after a 1-strike. The ball went to the left field wing seats. The man who has been in good form this season hit his 5th home run of the season, a two-run shot, to give his team the lead. "I'm glad I was able to score the first run in the first inning. I'll do my best to win," he commented.
