◆ Pacific League Seibu Lions 1-5 Orix Buffaloes (22nd, Belluna Dome)
Seibu Lions outfielder Shinya Hasegawa hit his sixth home run of the season, tying his personal best.
He started the game as the number 5 batter and right fielder. In the bottom of the ninth inning, with two outs and trailing by 5 runs after four more runs were added, he swung at Iriyama's 151 km/h high fastball and the ball flew into the left field stands. It was his sixth solo home run of the season. While many fans left the stadium midway through the game, the Lions fans who remained and continued to cheer him on erupted in cheers.
On this day, cleanup hitter Nevin was absent due to illness. With their mainstay missing, the batting lineup failed to connect, resulting in their first consecutive losses of May. He expressed a strong sense of responsibility, saying, "There's a huge difference between him being there and him not being there. He really has a different level of intimidation. It's easier for us when he's there, but I think we still have a long way to go if we're relying on him. Someone has to be chosen to fill in for him. I think we'll get better and better if we create as many chances as possible and do our job of bringing runner home."
Hasegawa joined Seibu Lions in 2020 as the second pick in the developmental draft. His highest Home Run in his six years as a professional was six in 2025, and this home run tied his own personal record.
