Nippon-Ham suffered a come-from-behind loss, dropping them to fourth place. Regarding the game, which was riddled with errors, manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo only commented, "There were so many mistakes I don't feel like talking about it, so please excuse me today."

In the third inning, Kamikawabata, who had just been promoted to the first team for the first time this season, hit a go-ahead doble down the left field line. Reyes also hit an RBI single to left field, giving the team a 2-0 lead.

However, in the fifth inning, Watanabe's timely single to right field narrowed the gap to one run, and in the seventh inning, the third pitcher, Uehara, gave up a go-ahead two-run homer to pinch hitter Kish. Nevin also hit his seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot to left-center field, extending the lead, and in the eighth inning, squeeze sealed the victory.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, with two outs and runners on first and second base, Manami hit a timely single to center field, scoring one run. However, runner on first base, Kamikawabata, was thrown out trying to advance to third base, and the opportunity was lost right in front of cleanup hitter Reyes.

In addition to this base running error, a series of minor mistakes in both offense and defense, such as being late covering the bases and mishandling a bunt, resulted in a painful loss.
