Rakuten Eagles conceded two runs in the first inning and were then pulled away from in the later innings, lose. Their winning streak ended at three games.

Starting pitcher Fujii gave up a two-run homer to Kurihara in the first inning with two outs and a runner on third base. Despite this, he pitched six innings, limiting the damage to five hit and two runs. Rakuten Eagles manager Hajime Miki commented on Fujii, saying, "I think Kurihara's hit was excellent, but it becomes difficult to catch up once the first run is scored. I wish he had been more tenacious there. However, overall, he showed his characteristic tenacity. I hope he can make the most of this in the future."

In the defense of the seventh inning, with two outs and a runner on first, Nakajima attempted a sliding catch against a ball near the left field line but deflected it (recorded as timely doble). While the ball was moving around toward the foul zone, runner at first scored. Then, with two outs and a runner on second, Shoji hit a hit to right, resulting in a painful two-runs.

Because expectations are so high, the manager made some "comments" about Nakajima's defense. "You could say he was attacking, but I think he had a few more options in his play, considering defense abilities. With his abilities, I think he could have made a choice to closer the ball inside while still trying to win it. That one goal was painful," he said emphatically.

In the fifth inning, trailing by two runs, Taira hit his fifth home run of the season off Maeda Yu, sparking a comeback. In the sixth inning, with two outs and a runner on second, Taira hit hit to right Walk, and in the ninth inning, he drew a walk. He made his presence felt despite lose. The manager praised him, saying, "He was persistent until the end, and his (Taira's) decisiveness and tenacity were on full display. I think it was a hit that really showcased his strengths." He added, "Although we lost the game, there were some good points when looking at each player individually. I hope that the less experienced players, in particular, will use this as fuel and energy for further growth."
