Rakuten Eagles 's pitcher Tatsuki Koja (24), earned his first win of the season, allowing 7 hit 2 runs over 6 innings. It was his long-awaited victory in his 7th start. "Until now, leading up to my first win, the fielder, the relief pitchers, and all the fans have been cheering me on. I feel like I've finally been able to repay everyone's support, not in a way, but as a first step," he said with emotion.

Former Nogizaka46 member and actress Shiori Kubo (24), who openly declares herself Rakuten Eagles fan, was in attendance at the game. Kubo threw the ceremonial first pitch for the sixth time in three consecutive years. Kosha and Kubo are the same age, both born in 2001. It was a coincidence that Kosha started the game for the third year in a row in which Kubo threw the first pitch. Kosha chuckled, saying, "I was the starting pitcher, so I didn't really have time to think about it. We don't even get to see each other," but then vowed to do even better, saying, "Since we're the same age, I hope we can liven things up with our youthful energy."
