Nippon-Ham won a close game, moving up to third place over Softbank Hawks. Their losing streak ended at two games, and they are now one game below .500.

In the first inning, the offense attacked Sou Sato who had been hastily brought in as the starting doble in place of Sumida. With two outs and a runner on first base, Reyes hit a timely double down the right field line to score the first run, and Nomura followed with a two-run homer to left-center field, his sixth of the season, to give them a 3-0 lead.

However, starting pitcher Takashi Kato gave up a solo home run to Nevin in the second inning, and then gave up consecutive home runs to Takizawa and Canario in the third inning, resulting in a tie.

In the third inning, with two outs, Manami hit doble down the left field line, and Reyes followed with an RBI single to right field to take the lead again. However, in the fourth inning, Nevin hit another solo home run to left field, his sixth of the season, tying the game.

Nevertheless, in the 8th inning, their main slugger, Reyes, hit a game-winning solo home run to left field, his 7th of the season. Closer Yanagawa closed out the 9th inning, securing the win.
