Rakuten Eagles infielder Kyosuke Kaneko (22) was promoted to the main roster on the 15th. The team announced that number will be changed from 134 to 98.

Kaneko joined the team in 2013 as the fourth pick in the developmental draft from Kanagawa University. Standing at 186 cm and weighing 100 kg, he is a right-handed slugger known for his power hitting. In the farm league, he played in 34 games, batting .234 with 7 Home Run and 21 RBI, making a strong impression. "I feel happy, but also that I need to work even harder. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has been involved in my development up to this point. I will do my best to hit home run in the first team," he commented.
