Nippon-Ham 's Kotaro Kiyomiya hit his 8th home run of the season, a "Toppo homer," which struck the right field foul pole off infielder Yokoyama in the bottom of the 9th inning with no outs and the score 2-5.

When he hit the pole displaying an advertisement for Lotte's snack "Toppo," he was awarded 1,000 "Toppo" snacks. He was surprised and delighted by the unexpectedly large number, saying, "The moment I hit it, I thought, 'It's Toppo!' But 1,000 of them (laughs). I'll give them to people who have helped me and find people who like Toppo."

He also envisioned reviving a certain culture he experienced in his younger days, saying nostalgically, "Back then, Sapporo Dome always had Toppo snacks in stock, and the younger players would keep them in the freezer for the veterans. Eating frozen Toppo. Maybe I should bring it back. I could tell the younger players, 'There are no Toppo snacks here!' (laughs)" and envisioned the return of "frozen Toppo" at the current home stadium, Escon.
