Kensuke Kondo Softbank Hawks won the Monthly MVP Award for March and April.

The winners of the March/April "Daiju Life Monthly MVP Award" were announced, with outfielder Kensuke Kondo receiving the award in Pacific League fielder category. This marks his fourth award, the first being in June 2012.

Kondo played in all games during March and April, batting .292 with 26 hit, 6 Home Run, and 19 RBI. His slugging percentage of .562 and on-base percentage of .425 were the best in the league. He had a disastrous performance with no At Bat in 13 at hit for the Japanese national team in the WBC, but he showed his genius as hitter right from the start of the regular season. "My performance hadn't been up to par since the WBC, and I was worried about myself, and I think the fans were worried too, so in that sense, I think it was a good start," he said at a press conference at Mizuho PayPay.
