◆ Pacific League Rakuten Eagles 0-2 Orix Buffaloes (12th, Hirosaki)

Orix Buffaloes snapped their two-game losing streak with their fifth shutout game victory of the season. Kuri gave up five Walk but closer the opposing team to six hit and no runs through the seventh inning to earn his third win of the season. This was his first win in his fifth appearance at a regional ballpark, ending their three-game losing streak on the road. Yoshida, Mukunoki, and Machado followed Kuri in relief to secure the win.

In the fourth inning, with one out and doble on first, Nishikawa hit an RBI double to give his team the lead. "I went for it on the first pitch. I'm glad it went to a good spot. (To Watanabe, who scored from first) Thank you, Ryoto!!" he said. With two outs and a runner on second, Ota hit an RBI single to right field to add another run. "It was a chance situation, so I went to the plate determined to go for it. It was a difficult pitch, but I'm glad I was able to react well!" he said excitedly.
